The AI Conference 2026 ran September 29 to October 1, 2026 at Pier 48, a waterfront venue in San Francisco's Mission Rock district, steps from Oracle Park. The organiser publishes the run as three days, five named tracks and more than 120 speakers. Day ZERØ opened the week on September 29 with a 350-participant cap. The two full conference days, September 30 and October 1, carried five-track programming for more than 5,500 builders, researchers and leaders.
The room list is the part a group planner reads line by line. Eight San Francisco properties sit on the conference FAQ. Seven of them publish a cut-off date, and each one books through a different channel.
One Code Per Property
Every property on the list carries its own booking code.
The Hyatt Regency San Francisco at 50 3rd Street books through the Hyatt group page under code G-AICO. SoMa House at 121 7th Street books through iHotelier under group 5128792. Hotel Fiona at 140 7th Street uses group 5128921. Hotel Julian at 940 Sutter Street uses group 5128785. Hotel VIA at 138 King St books through WindSurfer CRS under group 4564318. Luma Hotel San Francisco at 100 Channel St uses SynXis group 9153766. The W San Francisco at 181 3rd Street books through a Marriott event-reservations link. The Cartwright Hotel Union Square at 524 Sutter Street books through a shortened link that hides its code.
Three of the eight entries run on iHotelier groups. The other five each route through a separate channel. A planner who runs a block across two properties negotiates twice, with two codes and two folios.
Seven Cut-Off Dates in One List
The organiser publishes the dates in a single list. Luma Hotel closes first, on August 28, 2026. The Cartwright Hotel Union Square, Hotel Fiona and Hotel Julian all close August 29, 2026. The W San Francisco closes September 1, 2026. Hotel VIA closes September 2, 2026. The Hyatt Regency closes last, on September 6, 2026.
SoMa House publishes no cut-off date. Ask that property for one in writing before a group counts on the inventory.
The Hyatt Regency date sits 23 days before the September 29 opening. The Luma date sits 32 days before it. Nine days separate the first cut-off from the last. A group that settles its room list in mid-August still has every option open. A group that settles it in September works the Hyatt Regency line and little else.
The list is published in order of availability. Three properties carry a STILL AVAILABLE tag: SoMa House, the W San Francisco and the Cartwright Hotel Union Square. The other five carry no availability tag.
The Five-Night Window Against a Three-Day Meeting
The Luma Hotel booking link publishes arrive September 27, 2026 and depart October 2, 2026. That window is five nights. Hotel VIA's booking link opens its own search at September 27, 2026.
The meeting runs three days, September 29 through October 1. The five nights break into three conference nights and two nights ahead of the conference. Checkout lands on the morning of October 2, the day after the closing session.
Price two answers with each property. Ask for the five-night rate at the published window. Then ask for a three-night rate at arrive September 29 and depart October 2. The second figure shows what the shoulder nights cost. The difference between the two is the price of arriving early.
Ask for that second figure by name. A property quoting only its published window has quoted the longer stay.
Two Properties Sit Inside a Walk
Distance splits the list as much as price does. Luma Hotel sits 0.3 mile from Pier 48, a six-minute walk. Hotel VIA sits 0.6 mile out, a nine-minute walk. The Hyatt Regency is 1.6 miles away, a nine-minute car ride. The W San Francisco is 1.8 miles and a 15-minute drive. Two properties in the block are walkable.
What the Closed Link Shows
The W San Francisco's Marriott reservation link now answers, "The hotel(s) for your event are no longer available for reservations." The block is closed at the property, and the organiser's list still tags the same property STILL AVAILABLE.
Take both readings to the housing desk and ask which one holds. A closed booking link on a property the organiser still lists as open is the case that costs a group its first choice.
No Rate Is Published in the Block Links
None of the eight block links carries a nightly rate. The SynXis and WindSurfer pages build their rate calendars in the browser, so a group cannot read a price without running a live search.
Ask each property to put the rate, the destination fee, the parking charge and the cancellation ladder in writing. Those four lines decide the total, and none of them sits on the conference FAQ.
The Next Edition Is Already Dated
The organiser has published the next run: October 12 to 14, 2027, in San Francisco. That is a full cycle of lead time on the same mechanic. Start the room list early enough to clear the August cut-off cluster, and the two shoulder nights become a choice.
Run the first figures on the group rate calculator, then send the room request with the property, the code and the window. The San Francisco directory lists properties outside the block. The how-it-works page explains the request.
Questions Worth Sending Now
Six questions cover the gap between the published list and a signed contract. Ask each property for its cut-off date in writing, including SoMa House. Ask whether the group rate holds for the shoulder nights. Ask who holds the rooms and who releases them. Ask for the deposit and the cancellation ladder. Ask what the destination fee covers. Ask whether the block price includes breakfast.
Send the same six to the housing desk that runs the list. A written answer per property turns a page of dates into a plan.
